Kid Massive Pushes His Mind Electric Collab “City’s Alive” to the Max With a Driving Rework
No matter what permutation of house Kid Massive has operated in, the constant has always been a balance between mellifluous vocals and emotive melodies. The UK-based producer stays true to form on his latest single, “City’s Alive,” which finds him fusing his brainpower with an equally focused producer, Mind Electric. It’s quite a supercharged pairing on paper, and yet somehow it plays out better than anyone could have imagined. Together, they give life to a vocal-driven anthem that has more than enough energy to go around.
As an added bonus, each of the collaborators takes turns at reconstructing their track into their own signature blend. Mind Electric decides to go the bright and bouncy future house route, whereas Kid channels a more progressive edge for his version. The driving force of KM’s groove is not easily overlooked here. He pushes the spry piano chords and Simon Jackman’s high-strung singing to the max during the track’s five-minute run.
Available October 13 via Central Station Records.
