Kursa Makes a Spicy Mess Out of Dosage’s “Panama Peppers”
They say the best defense is a good offense, and Dosage isn’t the type to sit around waiting for the right time to strike. The burgeoning UK producer is armed with his Aegis EP, ready to pull the trigger with Saucy Records in just a few weeks. Loaded up with three new originals and two accompanying remixes, the release is a jarring bit of brilliance that pulls bass music along varying diagonals.
Leading the charge is “Panama Peppers,” a chipper little number ripe for the picking. Kursa hopped on it right away, taking things into a whole other direction. He splices the sweeping disco strings with clunky percussive hits, which escalate into a jolting drop of wonky breaks. It’ll sting the nostrils a bit at first, but the chunky bit will only grow on you the more you listen to it.
Available June 17 via Saucy Records.
