Kyle Watson Takes Things Big and Groovy on “Desiree” Remix

Kyle Watson has shown himself to be an excellent studio talent, a natural within the quirky vibes and techy grooves of bass house, dropping excellent cuts on labels like Sweat it Out! and Dirtybird in the past few years. With his upcoming remix for Audiophile Live, he’s crafted one of his best efforts yet, a massive rework of Embassy & Metacentric’s “Desiree.”

The South African producer’s success here comes from balancing his trademark gritty grooves and heavy bass rumbles with the original’s properly powerhouse vocals from Popartlive. Watson doesn’t waste any time establishing the tight grooves, embellishing his remix with all sorts of bass house weirdness before he ushers in the vocals at the breakdown and really takes things big.
