Logistics Locks Arms With Hugh Hardie on Lush Liquid Roller “Icarus”

It’s hard to imagine where the world of drum & bass would be without the mind of Matt Gresham. The UK maven, known to most by his Logistics guise, has continually taken the scene off the tracks with some of the most prolific output in the game. It’s this tenacity and tooth-and-nail mentality that has made him the pride and joy of the estimable Hospital Records imprint, where he just tore the shrink-wrap off his sixth studio album. Across its 14-track run, Electric Sun sees Gresham at the height of his musicianship, with its various vectors pointing all across the D&B spectrum.

Appearing as the second cut on the LP, “Icarus” is easily one of the strongest statements made here. Enlisting the strengths of Hospital cohort Hugh Hardie, Log conjures up a supernal slice of lush liquid. Executed with extreme elan, the tune boasts arpeggiations that twist and twirl out across rolling drums, nature calls and radiant embellishments. It’s further proof that Logistics continues to operate entirely on his own wavelength.
