Luca Donzelli & Mar-T Melt Faces With Tech Squelcher “Mosquitos on Acid”

There are times when a collaborative effort makes so much sense, you begin to question why it’s hasn’t become priority number one for both parties involved. The pairing between long-standing Amnesia Resident and Italian fledgling Luca Donzelli falls under such circumstances, one where imprints from the likes of Hot Creations, This and That and Sanity Records didn’t hesitate to open up their doors to this on-fire pairing.

The frequent cohorts have arrived with their next joint endeavor, the Going Crazy EP, with Mar-T’s own Wow! Recordings taking up hosting privileges this time around. Heard on the flip is this sloshing little bugger, “Mosquitos on Acid,” which matches the level of peak-time insanity featured on the titular cut. But it’s the squelchy synth riffs, erratically woven into amorphous vocals and tightly wrapped percussion, that’ll have dancefloors reaching for the fire alarm. Here’s what they had to say about the collab:

“Mosquitos on Acid” started from a crazy night together in the studio. After we were sure of the rhythm, Mar-T took to the microphone. Everything started out a bit like a joke, but a few minutes later he came into character and started to sing. The vocal was based on the acid sound that starts one min into the track, playing around with the word “acid.” Then it was time to work on acid sounds, and our synthesizers helped us to find the right mood of the track. We really enjoyed making this tune. It was great fun!
