Matador Launches New Rukus Label With “The Enemy”

While most still recognize him as a crucial component of the ENTER. and Minus crew, Matador is ready to cut the cord and climb into the label owner’s chair. Come next month, the Irish techno stud can officially add “Head of Rukus” to his business card.

“We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about something that fit cohesively alongside my Matador work, and Rukus just clicked,” he says. “It’s a commotion, which pretty much describes what we’re trying to achieve.”

The commotion he’s referring to has been the magic sauce in his live sets that has kept clubbers coming back for more. But now, this outlet will give Matador the opp to sign on anything that can keep up with the singular sound he’s established. He sets the bar with his forthcoming four-tracker, The Enemy, which includes a steamy collab with Chicago heavyweight Felix Da Housecat. Mind-altering bleeps skip across driving drumwork, as they ripple athwart inviting basslines that’ll make friends with the most discerning of heads.
