Melé Goes on the Dark Techno Tip With “Queens Day”
Melé doesn’t give two shits about staying inside the lines. The UK producer is more focused on toggling between rhythmic structures from various regions than he is on living up to anyone’s expectations. With a string of tour dates locked in with Redlight’s Lobster Boy imprint, the beat experimenter has readied a new weapon to take with him on the road. “Queens Day” is a low-lit cut with an edgy techno drive, yet it keeps one foot firmly planted in the global club circuit. Between its dance circle drum lines, elongated claps and ubiquitous whistle, this number is already a must-rinse in Melé’s rotation.
