Rae Turns in Dark and Dubby VIP of “That Feeling”

Like Chicago’s DJ Colette and a handful of others, London singer, songwriter, remixer and producer DJ Rae has been a thriving one-woman shop going on a decade now. In addition to working as a solo artist, Rae has collaborated with some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Kings of Tomorrow, Sandy Rivera, and Adam F. Most recently, she teamed up with fast-rising Ibiza favorites Mandal & Forbes for “That Feeling,” a UK garage fire-starter that raced up Beatport charts and filled dancefloors worldwide at the end of 2016.

Now comes the remix, done by Rae herself. The rework keeps some of Rae’s soulful, emotive ‘90s vocals, reminiscent of M People’s Heather Smalls, but strips away the sparkling piano house vibes, putting the emphasis on Mandal & Forbes’ rubbery bass, distilling the summery jam into a dark and dubby bouncer better suited for late nights and shadowy corners. Rae has been teasing snippets on her social media, but the full stomper is premiering here today. Hit play, and let “that feeling” take you away.
