Reset Robot’s “Attack of the Denim Hand” Caps the Night With Vibes
Awesomeness can happen when close friends come together and collaborate. For example, take Whistleblower Records, the underground UK label run since 2013 by three like-minded mates Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot and Rhymos.
It just so happens that all three members of this talented trio are established DJs and producers in their own right. Together, however, they become a creative force to be reckoned with on the world’s club circuit.
Now, on his latest four-track EP, Attack of the Denim Hand, Reset Robot—aka David Robertson—steps up with his Elektron drum machine and Korg Minilogue synth to deliver some dramatic techno, ranging from deep and melodic (“Try This Chip”) to the raw and pulsing (“TwoTwo”).
Then, “Attack of the Denim Hand” closes out the well-rounded release with some well-timed Balearic vibes. It’s the perfect wind-down track after a long night of hammering techno belters.
“The title comes from a road trip my friends and I took to Manchester,” Robertson tells Insomniac. “We went there for a night out, and there was a few of us squished into a hotel room afterwards. Just as we were all about to fall asleep, someone piped up: ‘Imagine if you had a denim hand…’ There was a lot of laughter, and it’s a phrase that’s become a long-standing joke within my inner circle of friends.”
Available February 17 via Whistleblower.
