Sacha Robotti Lends His Pungent House Flava to Billy Kenny’s “Work Me”
There are a lot of things that the This Ain’t Bristol label isn’t. For one, the Berlin-based imprint doesn’t subscribe to the stereotypical nonsense that has been crowding the space like too many of the figures from this day and age. Instead, their camp has been evolving the city’s underground roots by extending its own UK influences to shade the area between bass house and tech.
Following on from a monumental 2015, label co-head Billy Kenny is back with more of his hard-to-decipher productions, slamming down his double-header Ron Dat / Work Me. Sacha Robotti puts in some man-hours to rerub the backside, tweaking the tune enough to give it a pungent kick.
“When Billy asked me to remix his track for This Ain’t Bristol, I didn’t hesitate,” Sacha points out. “Really been digging what these dudes have released in the last year—especially Ardalan’s remix of ‘I Eat Beats.’ My remix of ‘Work Me’ takes many of the original elements of the track, but I made a new beat and tweaked everything, so it has my own flava. Enjoy!”
It’ll definitely give you a bad case of the jiggles.
Available March 4 via This Ain’t Bristol.
