Sonic Future Syncs Up With Shades of Light on Star-Gazing Rework of “Aurora”
In case your radar has been acting up recently, you may not have noticed Brazil on its way in as a major hub for electronic music. It certainly hasn’t happened overnight, and the blast radius is only going to exponentially grow as more people throw down into the pot. Not Another may just be getting off the ground, but the local label is sure to move the needle in big ways.
The imprint has secured their second issue with native Tiago de Renor, who sends off two flawlessly deep originals that underline his wizardry as a producer, sound designer and audio engineer. “Aurora” gets wacked around with two remixes on the package, with textural experts Sonic Future lighting up the tune alongside Shades of Light. With its shooting streaks of lurid arpeggiations, sky-wide chords and painstakingly precise drum programming, their version is sure to enjoy many, many plays under the night sky.
