Sygnal Secures Spot on ‘Bassrush 1.0’ Compilation With Neuro-Flecked Concoction “Down”
Bassrush has been looking out for all the low-end freaks for a considerable amount of time, diligently plotting out events of the highest caliber. Now, alongside Viper Recordings, the crew is finally adding a proper compilation to the love it intends to spread both far and wide. With two of the strongest bass brands in the game running point on the release, Bassrush 1.0 represents all that is right in dubstep, trap, drum & bass, and the various subgenres conjoining them. Across its 50-piece track list, the album big-ups festival fledglings and favorites (think Andy C, Flux Pavilion, Noisia, Datsik, InsideInfo and the like), many of which will be kicking up dirt when they roll up to EDC Las Vegas to keep the bassPOD vibes high all weekend long.
Six spots on the album have been reserved solely for exclusives, and Sygnal has managed to secure one of them with his dare-to-be-different contribution, “Down.” Adding extra weight to the tune is Nikki Sierra, whose luscious pipes rest easy next to the neuro-flecked riffs, wailing lines and choppy drum patterns. The signing is a special moment for Syg, one that takes him back to his humble beginnings in L.A’s underground scene. Here’s some info on the signing from Sygnal himself:
It was when I met Spectr (founder of Drumz) in ‘99 that I discovered the visual side of the underground shows. Shortly after, I was immersed in creating and installing environmental props at underground events around DTLA. Many of those events were among the early network that would later form Bassrush. It’s long since been a goal to share my music on such a platform. So, having our track featured with Bassrush for the first time is not just exciting, it also reignites that early spark of when I first found the underground scene.
