Upercent’s “Pedres” Is a Tech-House Showstopper
“I try to translate moods into musical notes,” says Spanish veteran Jose Molés (aka Upercent). The Valencia-born producer knows the subtlest detail can make the difference when he’s creating tracks that deliver euphoria on the dancefloor.
Case in point is his latest collaboration, “Pedres,” forthcoming next month on fellow Spaniard Marc Martinez Nadal’s (aka AFFKT) underground label Sincopat. “Upercent’s music ignores hypes and styles, making it full of personality and honesty,” says Nadal.
The original mix serves up a wobbly groove, distorted synth stabs, and pulsing sub-bass that’s fused with some emotive jazz piano. Lock on below—and be sure to savor the negative space between the notes.
Available October 7 via Sincopat.
