Volkoder’s “For Me” Is a Zero-G Space House Jam
Earlier this year, Lee Foss launched a new record label, Repopulate Mars, based on his intergalactic-themed club series. Since then, the Hot Creations boss has been busy, releasing a slew of “alien funk” on the fledgling imprint, including past tracks from underground house luminaries like Patrick Topping, Sonny Fodera, Justin Jay and others.
For the latest release, Volkoder steps up to deliver his pulsing three-track Prospective EP. On “For Me,” the Brazilian artist, born Marcos Benedetti, punches up sonar-echoing soundscapes and emotive vocal edits that shake and pop across the electronic galaxy.
“I feel very honored and privileged to have a release on Repopulate Mars,” he tells Insomniac. “It’s like a dream come true, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was when I heard that Lee wanted to release my EP—a big shout-out to everybody at the label for believing in me!”
Available November 18 via Repopulate Mars.
