You Ain’t Ready for Tank Parade’s Apocalyptic “Heata”
Firepower Records comes in with guns blazing once again, this time in the form of the fresh-faced Tank Parade. Introducing him to the world with his aptly titled Who the Fk Is Tank Parade EP, it’s obvious that not only is the Firepower crew putting their full weight behind him, but the young producer himself is going straight for the jugular.
With a level of skill that belies his years, the bass bin mastery on display with this EP alone is enough to turn disbelievers into straight-up followers. From the sinister dub vibes on “Nerds” and “Firestarter”—which draw from some classic inspirations before flipping the script and hammering it all home—all the way through to the anabolic beast known as “Pull Up,” it’s clear that Tank Parade ain’t holding nothing back.
Take our favorite cut off the EP, “Heata,” which we’re showcasing below. Constructed of dub DNA and summertime vibrations, it isn’t until the drop comes roaring in that we know what kind of feral creature we’re dealing with.
As Tank Parade tells us, the tune “is about a time I made a pizza and burnt my hand and got pretty mad, so I made a song about it.” While that may or may not be true, prepare to hit the deck when you hear this one coming through, as Tank Parade is on a mission to bring down the walls in a fiery, apocalyptic blaze of glory.
Available October 13 via Firepower.
