ZDS Flips Downtempo Funk Into Romantic Voodoo House on Elderbrook’s “Woman” Remix
Finding your groove as a musician can take a lifetime for some. Others, like Alex “Elderbrook” Kotz, find theirs early on and work it across a myriad of styles. On “Woman,” the first single from his seven-track EP, Talking, his soulful falsetto and pillow talk whispers bop along to a funky downtempo beat. For his deep remix, ZDS weaves Elderbrook’s R&B vocals between sassy tribal beats, crisp hi-hats, cavernous drumrolls, glittering chimes, and haunting synth washes. It’s a sensuous slice of voodoo house highlighting both ZDS’ finesse and Elderbrook’s stylistic range.
