Westend Unleashes Pure Fuzzy-Bass Mayhem With His “Something Massive” Rework
Later this week, Detroit’s Country Club Disco record label welcomes NYC producer Codes back into the fold with his new track “Something Massive,” described by the label as a dancefloor destroyer “with low-end so heavy it could sink a ship.” We couldn’t agree more. For remix duties, Country Club Disco has drafted Steve Darko and Westend to deliver strong reworks, and we’re featuring the latter’s wild reinterpretation as our Track of the Day.
Described as a “talented up-and-comer,” Westend lives up to the reputation by dialing up the grit, while placing the focus on the quirky grooves with his take. He starts out small and unassuming, before moving to something that’s very big, indeed. Restrained up until its first major drop around several minutes in, it’s here that Westend releases the fuzzy-bass mayhem of its main hook.
Dig into it above, and make sure to catch Codes while he tears across North America on his Summer Massive Tour from now until the middle of August.
Available June 22 via Country Club Disco.
